Rainbow Hellos & Eid Patterns

Rainbows around the park in languages used locally.Whilst doing them, a little girl asked what I was doing. As we chatted, she said she was in the park to celebrate Eid with her family. I asked if she’d like me to chalk an Eid pattern, and she helped me - then her family joined in and we created an Eid message together. A passer-by was on video chat to his wife in Pakistan, and she took screenshots to show her friends! International chalking.

Pavement Messages

Pics and words drawn on the pavement for children walking to school in the newly created low traffic neighbourhood (LTN). Also for everyone else too!

Dinosaurs

Turning the park into “Jurassic Park”, including a giant-sized diplodocus. It started when a child asked me to draw them a dinosaur. Another child asked if I could then draw a spinosaurus. A third asked for a parasaurolophus...thank goodness for Google!

Encouraging Others to Chalk Too

I left bits of chalk placed around the park to encourage other people to try chalking too - and they did! Lots of lovely drawings and messages were made by children and their adults.
